We promise that your weekend this fall – a historic first on our campus – will be worth the long wait you have endured for one more special Carolina experience with your classmates, families and loved ones.

This spring, Carolina will host in-person Commencement ceremonies in Kenan Stadium, with two of the nation’s leaders in COVID-19 research delivering the keynote speech. We look forward to honoring the Class of 2021.
We will continue to seek your class leaders’ input and guidance about the events and activities that will be most meaningful to you. We will have more details for you later in the spring as we work with our public health experts throughout the planning process.
Each year, Commencement closes with graduates linking arms and singing Hark the Sound as one. In lieu of this time-honored tradition, Carolina's a cappella groups joined forces for a virtual performance of the University's alma mater.
As Charles Kuralt said 27 years ago, Carolina is more than just the Bell and the Well. While our iconic structures and the campus life bring a special energy to the University, it's the people who make us great.
Our Carolina graduates are becoming part of the Carolina alumni family that is more than 336,000 members strong. Watch as some of our alumni and campus community members welcome graduates to the next chapter of their Tar Heel experience.
